30 May 2017 07:30-09:30Comprend

Welcome to our breakfast seminar on one of today's most important topics in digital communication—accessibility for people with disabilities.

We'll share tips, advice and motivation to inform you, help you, and inspire you to do more in building a more inclusive digital world.

The agenda includes:

  • Ulrika Norelius Centervik, director at Synskadades Riksförbund and the first person in Sweden to take an organisation to court over poor website accessibility
  • Mischa Andrews, a Comprend consultant who was an accessibility advisor in the Australian Government and whose writing on accessibility has been shared by WebAIM, Smashing Magazine, Hacker News, uxdesign.cc and more
  • Joel Ekman, also from Comprend, who has developed an accessibility testing tool through his postgraduate studies at KTH Royal Institute of Technology

This seminar is free and open to anyone who works with websites, apps, and digital content.

Sweden's legal requirements for web accessibility were strengthened in 2015 and again with an EU Directive in 2016—so be sure to take this opportunity to expand your knowledge on this important topic.

The speakers will present in English. Breakfast will be provided and you will have the opportunity to ask questions and network with others.

When: Tuesday 30 May 2017. Breakfast from 7:30am, speakers 8:00–9:30, doors close at 10:00
Where: The Comprend office (level 9), Sveavägen 20, Stockholm

Please note: a guide dog will be present during this session. While we'll do our best to keep your breakfast safe, you may need to be aware if you have allergies.

Registrations close on Thursday, 25 May.
